Our partnership with the Biscuit Factory Cat Lounge began in October 2023 when owner Lauren Bogert approached us about starting the first full-time cat cafe in Colorado Springs.
The Biscuit is modeled on conventional cat cafes where visitors who can’t have cats–or those who just want to bask in them–can be surrounded by lovable, purring felines for the price of a beverage. Our happy cats live together in this historic Old Colorado City setting, ready to be ambassadors for our cat-loving community.
We call them our Gold Medal Cats, as they must be extra friendly to both people and the other cats they live with to qualify for the Biscuit. They help us showcase our adoptable adults and catolescents for thousands of visitors every year.
Lauren and her staff also help guide both experienced and new cat guardians to the most cat-friendly handling and care. They model everything we teach about respecting cat boundaries and getting consent. Our values of Let the cat pet you and Think like a cat are ingrained in the Biscuit, as they are at Happy Cats.
Along with walking their talk with our happy cats, the Biscuit offers yoga, birthday parties and special events. All donations that come through the Biscuit go specifically to support our Happy Cats, as this small, woman-owned business is thriving and wants us to succeed too.
Cats do best when they know each other and need time to adapt to new kitty faces. This is why our Biscuit ambassadors stay there for a few weeks after they make friends, to keep their stress low. Applications for Biscuit kitties are always accepted and we alert potential adopters when their adoption window is open.
Since 2023, our partnership has helped us increase the number of adult cats we can save by 20%!
