Time & love for Minnie & Max

by

Minnie and Max came to us when the kind person who found them outside could no longer care for them. Their socialization window was closing fast at well over 5 months old, and they were still very scared and shy.

Our behavior team worked hard to earn their trust with playtime and confidence building. Soon they were on their way home with Tyresha.

She tells us, “Minnie got her name changed to Baby as that is what I kept calling her.  Baby definitely turned “Kitty Admin” as she has to be around everything I do.

She loves laying on the couch with me and has a talent for stealing food packets off the counter when I am not looking and is a great bug catcher.  Loves to play.  Doesn’t normally purr because she is so busy all the time and moving but I’ve heard her occasionally. She also loves to eat wheat grass and swat at her brother from above.

Max has come a long way.  He still likes his solitude but is also a complete love cat.  He wants pets, purrs loudly, and is very vocal when it is time to eat or get a treat.

Occasionally he will come up onto the couch or the bed to sleep or get loves and he also plays with toys now.  It took quite a while to get to that point and he is startling less and less over loud noises.  He loves to chase his sister.  He also loves belly pets and laying on his back.

He will also grab your shirt sleeve with his front paws/claws to stop you from pulling away when he is getting belly pets.  He will allow a friend of mine that has been over frequently to pet him, but he disappears when someone new comes over.

Max and Baby were really well-behaved during the holidays and didn’t bother decorations. Both are healthy and watch bird videos while I am gone to work.  So thankful for them 😻!”
