At Happy Cats Haven, we often welcome in pairs of cats and kittens with very different purrsonalities. These best friends are where opposites attract. You may even have them in your own home!
Think Introverts with Extroverts. The one who likes to close the party down and the one who wants to avoid it altogether!
Though we often see this in kitten pairs, they can be any age or sex. They may not always snuggle, groom or walk with tails entwined. They may be content just being in the same room…or even the same house.
They don’t always come in like this, either. Sometimes they find their kitty soulmates in our comfy colony rooms.
How do we know if they’re bonded? The main thing we ask is, do they bring each other comfort? If they do, we do everything we can to keep them together. Comfort means less stress and more joy, less illness and more flexibility to adapt to their new families.
Cats love predictability, so going to new homes is almost always stressful for them. Going home with your bff who also brings familiar scents, purrs and loving behaviors gives them the best possible foundation.
Sometimes these cats need a little extra TLC. Fear free veterinary care, preparing ahead for vet visits or company, and honoring their lines of consent (Let the cat pet you!) are key to their happiness. Happy Cats is here for them…and you!…if anyone ever needs help fitting in.
We always have several of these unique pairs at Happy Cats. You can count on the outgoing one to be your bridge to the one who may be a little more shy. With a little patience and a lot of love, you could be the family who helps us find them their purrfect home!
