When teen mom Sheva birthed her babies at one of our loving foster homes, it didn’t go as expected. The little black one Miracle was not breathing so foster mom Rhiannon resuscitated her and she came through.
Then tiny tabby Wonder was born with twisted front and back legs. When Rhiannon realized she wasn’t growing, a check with our Dr Quinn showed she also had a cleft palate.

Because of the hole in her mouth, Wonder had to be bottle fed and sometimes it seemed like Rhiannon wore more milk than Wonder drank! But while she bottle fed the baby, Rhiannon went to work doing physical therapy on her wee legs.

Wonder complained as mightily as a teeny kitten could, but within a month of persevering, she was wobbling around and holding her own with Miracle. Another 6 weeks along and Rhiannon says they are still bonded, with Miracle never playing too roughly and always staying within reach of Wonder.

Over 50 foster families spend loving time with our kitties, raising kittens who become adaptable, confident adults. Thanks to Rhiannon’s huge heart, we know Miracle and Wonder’s perfect family is waiting for these perfectly imperfect little girls.
Wonder will have her cleft palate repaired when she gets spayed. Saving special needs kitties takes more time and is more expensive, but we feel each little soul deserves their best chance possible.
