Kita’s Journey

by

From a Rural Shelter to a Happy Home…

One year ago, a sassy little cat named Kita made her way from the Trinidad, Colorado municipal shelter to Happy Cats Haven, where she had a better shot at finding the perfect home. And she did—landing with two loving adopters who now can’t imagine life without her.

It took Kita a couple of months to settle in, but once she did, she fully made herself at home—even greeting guests at the door. “We weren’t sure if she’d be a cuddler,” her adopter shared, “but we couldn’t have been more wrong.” These days, she often snuggles in for morning news or evening downtime.

Kita has the perfect blend of independence and affection. She does things on her own terms, but her bond with her people has only deepened with time. “It’s clear she trusts us now,” they said. “And we feel so lucky to have earned that trust.”

She’s also quite the goofball—turning anything into a toy and inventing new games out of thin air. Her current obsessions? Feather wands and cardboard boxes. She follows her humans around the apartment, meowing helpful “advice,” and serves as a cozy co-worker during work-from-home days.

“We’re so grateful to Happy Cats Haven for helping us find a cat whose personality fits us so well,” her adopter says. “She’s brought so much joy into our lives.”

From uncertain beginnings to a life full of love and play, Kita is proof that the right match makes all the difference.
