Peace for Reggie

by

Lore was one of the kittens born to a pregnant momcat abandoned at Happy Cats in 2015. He and his brother were adorable kittens who were adopted quickly to a young couple.

Fast forward 9 years and a couple of toddlers later, and the family realized they couldn’t give them the care they needed. Big ginger Lore was also going outside the box since they had the children, so we gladly took them back.

We realized pretty quickly that his brother Data was a Party Animal who was up for about anything, while shy Lore was very anxious. We always try to keep families together, but Lore showed us he was much more confident without his brother, so we let Data go home to a different family so we could focus on handsome, sweet Lore.

That let us figure out what Lore needed for his litterbox habits: daily cleaning of the box and moving him to a space by himself. He loved spending time with our volunteers, getting brushed and loved on.

Once his anxiety decreased, his litterbox issues stopped completely. He rediscovered playtime and got his beach body back too!

He also needed that quiet space to recover back to his loving, purrful self. Danielle came along, looking for a friend for life after having lost her last cat to old age. He soon won her over with his headbonks and purrs.

He’s now Reggie and loving his peaceful new life. Danielle says, “I am totally in love with him ❤️ and he is already making leaps and bounds.

He enjoys spending time with me watching tv lol. He loves to play with toys that have feathers and strings. And of course the brush is his favorite bonding exercise!

Most importantly, He gets a lot of peace here. It’s quiet for him here. Thank you again for all your help in bringing us together!”
