Love to senior cats from Mia

by

This is a love letter from Virginia, one of our adopters, about her kitty Mia. She says, “This is Mia, whom I adopted from Happy Cats Haven in the fall of 2021. Mia was 14 years old when I adopted her. A beautiful girl who still had plenty of life left to live.

I was told her people, who’d had her since kittenhood, gave her up. The vet turned Mia over to Happy Cats, where I saw her photo and wanted to adopt her. She is the second senior cat I’ve adopted.

Even though Mia was a senior, she still loved to play – she’d bat her mouse toys around so fiercely, I started calling her Mia Gretzky. I was constantly moving furniture to get to the ones she batted so hard they went flying. She loved getting into the catnip plant when I wasn’t looking, getting treats, and having her belly rubbed.

Mia shared her 9th life with me until recently. She passed away at home as I was holding her; I miss her dearly.

Senior cats still have lots of love to give, and deserve to live however many of their nine lives are left in a loving home. Adopt senior cats – they’re wonderful.”
