Hi there, I’m Mojito — but my friends call me Mojo, and I hope you will too.
I’m a 3-year-old orange-and-white creamsicle boy with long, fluffy fur like my cousins the Maine Coons, and the gentlest expression you’ll ever see on a cat. I was rescued from a hoarding situation, and when I first arrived, I wasn’t sure what to think of this big, unfamiliar world. I started out very shy… but with time, kindness, and patience, I’ve blossomed into quite the considerate little gentleman.
I get along wonderfully with the other cats who were rescued with me — they helped show me that people can be safe and love can be real. I carry nothing but hope and sweetness in my heart, even after everything I’ve been through.
I’ve graduated into a Sidecar Cat, the one who likes to be near but not necessarily on your lap. It took me a while to trust this petting thing that people always want to do. But now you can see I am actually leaning in, as long as it’s shoulder rubs and maybe a little bit on my back.
The best way to my affection is to brush me! I love the gentle strokes of a cat brush, which is great as I will need help keeping up my beautiful fur.
When I move into a new home, I’ll need time — a couple of months, actually — to fully settle in and feel brave again. The world can still feel overwhelming, so I’m hoping to find a cat-savvy human who understands that trust isn’t instant but so worth the wait.
I’d do best in a stable, predictable environment with no dogs or kids and with someone who isn’t gone for long stretches. I’m sensitive, but once I feel secure, I’ll warm your heart with soft companionship, gentle affection, and quiet devotion.
