Howdy, I’m Mercury! I have the classic coat of a tortoiseshell tabby with orange stripes as well as brown, and buff spots that make me a true torbie…but I’m a boy!
Torties and torbies are almost always female, so that makes me extremely rare (estimated at 1 in 3,000!). But I don’t care about that nearly as much as I care about my people friends.
I’m a very loving cat and will probably be your best Kitty Secretary once I get settled in my new home, following you around and making sure your life has the recommended daily dose of headbonks. I lean in when you snuggle me, purring my little whiskers off.
I’m about 5 years old, so I’m still a kitten at heart. As long as I’ve had my petting time, when you get out those wand toys you’ll have hours of watching me pounce and play!
I’ll need daily playtime to make sure I get the exercise and stimulation I need to be your best loverboy. I may also be a good candidate for an Adventure Cat with training for learning to walk on a harness and leash.
I came to Happy Cats when my people couldn’t care for me anymore. I’ve lived with other cats, dogs and small children, so should do well in just about any home.
As a popular cat, my adoption fee is $400, which will go toward helping my other Happy Cats friends find their homes. That includes my neuter, vaccinations, microchip, food and litter starter kit and a free well-kitty checkup with one of our fine partner vets to help you get started.
If there are many people interested in adopting me at the same time, the names of qualified applicants will be entered into a random drawing. This gives all qualified adopters an equal opportunity to adopt me.
