Hi, I’m Goldie. I am a 7-year-old gentleman with a coat that shimmers like sunshine and a heart to match. People say I look like a British Shorthair lilac fawn, just without the fancy papers. What truly makes me special is my loving spirit and the way I keep choosing kindness, even after a tough start in life.
I survived a long time on my own, which means I learned to protect my food and stay alert. Today I still get sore in my hips and tail from those years. Sometimes I duck away from touch because it hurts, not because I don’t adore you. I take arthritis medicine every day to help me stay comfortable. A gentle home will make all the difference for me.
My heart opens widest for other cats. I love being the protective uncle of the house. I chirp to coax shy kittens to come play. I sleep curled up with them and keep them company.
I would really love a kind young cat or a sweet female cat as a buddy in my new home. Dogs and children are stressful for me, so I do best in a calm, quiet place with soft hands and lots of understanding.
I am very social with my people too. I follow my humans around, nap on laps, sleep tucked in as the little spoon and want to be close as much as you will let me. You can see I love to be brushed so maintaining my lovely coat will be a snap.
I also have a special emotional support green ribbon that I carry everywhere like a prized treasure. I enjoy playtime with ball-track toys and those fun spinning butterfly toys. My vision and hearing are not perfect anymore, but I still love life.
I eat mostly wet food because of my dental history, and I prefer seafood flavors. I will nibble kibble when I need a little extra. I just ask for a clean litter box once a day and someone who understands that sometimes eating can feel hard when my body aches.
I am truly the most loving boy. I have seen the worst and still believe the best is ahead of me. I hope to find someone who feels the same.
If you are retired or home a lot and want a loyal best friend to share every day with you, I am ready to be that companion. You will never find a kinder, gentler little soul.
