Hi there, I’m Dennis!
I’m a resilient, playful boy with a big personality and a unique look. I’m missing part of my back leg, but I’ve adapted beautifully and get around just like any other kitty.
I can climb, play, and chase toys with the best of them, and I don’t let my leg slow me down. I came from an outdoor environment where I had to compete for food, but since coming into foster care, I’ve been thriving indoors and learning how fun and safe home life can be.
I absolutely love to play. Wand toys, balls, and anything interactive are my favorite and the fastest way to win my heart. I also love treats and will happily work for them. Once I feel safe, I’m a big purr machine and really enjoy pets and attention.
I really enjoy other cats, especially young, playful males who like to wrestle and chase. Having a feline friend helps me feel more confident and brings out my fun, social side. Because of this, I must go to a home with another cat to be friends with.
Because of my past and sensitive nature, I’m looking for a calm, patient home that understands I need time to build trust. I am a shy boy and it can take me up to two weeks to acclimate in a new environment.
I feel safest up high on my cat tree, and I do best when I’m approached there. If I get overwhelmed, I may run away at first, but with consistency, I continue to grow and open up.
I must start out in a designated safe room such as a bedroom or office where I can settle in and feel secure. Bathrooms or closets are not appropriate for me. Having a proper safe space will help me build confidence and adjust successfully. I am looking for a home without young children.
I’m not a super snuggly lap cat, but in a quiet home, I love relaxing on the couch next to you and just being close. I bond deeply with my people, it just takes me a little time to get there.
I would do best in a home without young children. I can live with other cats and would truly benefit from a playful feline companion. I may also do well with a mellow, cat-friendly dog who respects my space.
