Hi, I’m Coal, and I may be 14, but I promise I still play like a kitten, just don’t tell me I’m a senior!
I’m a sleek, black short-haired gentleman with a long, graceful body and a cool cat personality. My story started rough: as a tiny kitten, I was thrown out of a moving car on a Texas highway. My person saw it happen, stopped traffic, and scooped me up before I was hit.
She bottle-fed me and raised me with love, and I spent my whole life by her side until she passed away. I lived with her and seven other cats, and I was always her “baby”.
I’m a sidekick kind of guy. I love being right next to my person, especially on the arm of the couch, watching TV together. I may not always be in your lap, but I’ll be close enough to remind you I’m there for you.
In my foster home, I’ve been curious and friendly with the resident cats and dogs and haven’t hissed once, even when we first met. I’ve been a great friend to Peanut, who also came with me to find a new home.
Even at 14, I haven’t outgrown my love for toys! Give me a wand toy or a peacock feather and I’m all in. I just had a dental cleaning and got two painful teeth removed, so now that eating is comfy again, I’m working on filling out these handsome hips. And speaking of eating…if you offer canned food, we’re basically best friends for life.
I’ve had some hard beginnings, but I’ve also known deep love and I’m ready to share that again with someone special. If you’re looking for a gentle, loyal companion with a youthful sparkle, I might be your guy.

I can be adopted for $60 which includes my neuter, vaccinations, microchips, food and litter starter kit, a free well-kitty checkup to help you get started, and a new dental to make sure my teef are pearly white. If you have room in your heart and home for both Peanut and me, we would love to go together with the Friends & Family discount for $150!
