Hi world, I’m Chanel! I’m a neat, petite tuxedo girl, with the tipped-ear badge of courage that shows you I survived trying to live outside after I was abandoned.
I showed up starving at a feral colony last summer, trying to find something to fill my empty tummy. When I came up to the caretakers asking for help and rubbing on their legs, the kind folks there realized I wasn’t feral after all and brought me to Happy Cats.
I’m so glad to be safe and warm inside! I can be scared at first and offer a little hiss, but once I know you’re kind, I happily come to my name.
I may have been mishandled because I have a tendency to duck at first when you go to pet me. But if you’re patient and go slowly, I will lean in and reward you with the biggest purr ever! I love following around my new friends like any good little Kitty Admin.
I can sometimes get overstimulated, so it’s best to pet me with just a few strokes until we get to know each other. We expect that I will be a Snuggle Bunny once I’m safe and settled in with my new family.
I’m just a young cat, probably only about a year or so old, so I still love to pounce and play like a kitten when I get the chance! I will love just about any kitty wand you have to share with me and keep you entertained for hours.
I want to be friends with the kitties here, but sometimes they scare me and I get defensive. It will probably be best if I’m your One and Only, at least for now. Once I know you have my back and I never have to fight again for food, I may do well with another younger and smaller kitty as a new friend. I’ll blossom into my best self in a home with no small children or dogs.
