Meet our gorgeous ginger siblings Aspen & Ms. Maple! They are both deep orange tabbies with emerald eyes and the lush fur and tufty ears of their fancy cousins, the Maine Coons. They’ve come back into the care of Happy Cats because they lost their beloved cat mom.
They both miss their mom, but are starting to enjoy other people again, getting welcome pets and tummy rubs from friends and visitors.
Aspen is the larger of the two, with darker orange–almost auburn–on his face and back. Ms. Maple has the rounder face and eyes with the quiet meow.
They may both start out a bit shy but will soon blossom to be your best little Kitty Admins, following you around the house to help spread that ginger love. They both appreciate being asked to be petted when getting to know them.
Once they’re home and safe, both will turn into Snuggle Bunnies who love laptime on the couch. Ms. Maple is a master biscuit maker and will even roll over for belly rubs before snuggles.
Aspen has so much love to give, sleeping at night on your hip with big purrs! During the day, settles on laps on the couch for hours on his favorite fuzzy blanket, purring all the while. At night, he might be found carrying around his favorite people’s socks and hats!
At only 6 years old, they’re still up for playtime, any time. Wand toys are their favorite, with you on the other end, but they also play with their small toys (especially the cat springs!) and cloth tunnel. They adore their tall cat trees and will come with one each so they can continue one of their favorite pastimes, admiring birds out the window.
They also come with their own cat carriers. If you put them in a place where the door can be propped open, they will go nap in the carriers. This makes it easier for taking trips to the veterinary clinic.
The kitties have some “rope” kitty baskets that they will sleep in, but they also like “treats” put into those baskets, put on cat towers and windowsills. They’re not too picky, since the treats are just pieces of their dry food!
Maple has some allergies that have been managed with occasional steroid shots. They come with the food they’ve been thriving on, both wet and dry.
Neither cat loves to be brushed, but we can show you how to make that pleasant for them. Ms. Maple was recently given a trim to help with mats so now is a good time to find a soft brush to show them how nice it feels to be gently brushed before the mats arise.
They also come with two water fountains they love, to encourage them to stay hydrated. The fountains can go 2-3 weeks before they’re easily cleaned.
These two jewels will rightly thrive as the center of attention, with no other animals, because really, who could compete with all this magnificence? They’ll also do best in a family with older children or teens, if you have children in your home, who can respect their need for occasional alone time.
This amazing duo come with everything you need to get them settled in. Along with their cat trees, water fountains, carriers, toys and litter boxes, Ms. Maple and Aspen come with their very own catio, if you have a place to attach it to the side of the home you own! Their current setup has a cat door into the catio so they can come and go as they please during the day. Their current family truly wants them to stay Happy Cats, in their forever home!
We love keeping best friends together, so our Friends & Family Discount lets the pair go home with an adoption fee of $180. That includes their spay and neuter, microchips, vaccinations, a food & litter starter kit each plus a free well-kitty checkup with one of our wonderful partner vets each.
They are currently being cared for by their extended family, so please call us to arrange a meet-&-greet with them. If it’s a nice day, they will probably meet you at the catio and then come right inside to get to know you better!
