Hi, I’m Satchmo.
I’m a 5 year old Maine Coon boy with a sweet soul and a “funny valentine” kind of personality. That means I’m gentle, affectionate, and a little charming in my own quiet way. We’re not totally sure yet if I’ve got the rhythm to live up to my name, but I’d say it’s absolutely worth finding out.
I’m an easygoing guy who does great with people and gets along well with other cats. I’ve shown no aggression while in care and tend to bring a calm, comforting presence wherever I go. I’m a Snuggle Bunny who enjoys attention, companionship, and just being part of the room with my humans.
I am FIV positive, which sounds a lot scarier than it actually is. FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) is very rare and difficult to pass on to other cats as long as there’s no serious fighting. It’s not contagious to humans or other animals. You can tap here to read more about FIV.
That means I can safely live with other friendly, non aggressive cats. Many FIV+ cats live normal, happy lives with proper care. I just need a little extra love in the form of regular vet visits, especially twice yearly checkups to keep an eye on things like dental health. With routine care and a loving home, I can thrive just like any other kitty.
I’m missing my canine teeth due to a decision made by my previous owner, but it hasn’t affected my ability to eat, play, or be my sweet self.
