Baxter’s safety net

by

Handsome ginger man Applejax had a rough time of it. First, he was abandoned outside and found trying to survive in a feral colony. The colony manager realized what a friendly fellow he was, so she brought him to us to find a real family for him. Although he didn’t do well with other cats and was afraid of dogs, she said he was “funny, talkative, mischievous, snuggly, and a playful lapcat” so we were all in for Applejax!

He was adopted to an older couple and all seemed well at first. But a few months later, our friends at the Humane Society let us know he had been abandoned there for biting.

Bites are taken seriously, so he would not have survived there had he not come back to us. We took a lot of time with him, trying to find behaviors that would trigger him biting again.

He was a little more suspicious of people, but seemed to be the same sweet boy we knew before. Soon he was on his way home with Joy to be her One and Only.

She tells us his name is now Baxter and he has captured her heart.

He’s a great Kitty Secretary and Snuggle Bunny for her, overall a great match!
