Seeing love with Jerry

by

One freezing day last winter a kind person found a cat trying to find shelter in her chicken coop in Elbert. He was in horrible shape, very thin with painful eyes so she took him to our friends at Fox Run Veterinary Hospital.

They called to see if we could find a home for this sweet tabby patch fellow and of course we said yes. He was a senior boy who had been outside quite a while, trying his best to survive. He weighed the same as an older kitten, with eyes glued shut and a painful, infected mouth.

Fortunately his kidneys were still strong, even though he was also FIV positive. Our wonderful donors helped us raise the funds to pay for his full mouth extraction and the removal of one eye, while treating the other for pain and vision loss.

In spite of all this, Jerry was still very much a people cat. Our catographer Linda had trouble getting his photos because all he wanted to do was crawl in her lap!

He had a loving foster home until just the right person came along for Jerry to give back all the love he’d lost…and more.

Kacie had been a volunteer and was looking for an affectionate cat. Jerry was purrfect of course!

She tells us, “I’m so very happy to have him in my home. He’s the biggest snuggler, is eating well, and gets along with everyone. He’s truly the best cat – I’m so fortunate that y’all took such good care of him!”
