Events Coordinator
Do you enjoy orchestrating activities and sparking connections between people, especially to further good causes? We’re looking for a dynamic people person to spearhead our signature event and coordinate our smaller ones.
Job description summary: The Events Coordinator is responsible for all aspects of managing events and auctions, along with their marketing. This position also coordinates with staff for retail and social media promotions.
Employment schedule: 15 flexible hours per week, fewer during quiet times and close to fulltime in the 2 months leading up to Acatemy Awards in April.
Preferred education/training: Experience managing major events and volunteers to staff them. High school diploma or equivalent. Commitment to Happy Cats Haven’s mission & cat welfare. Strong interpersonal skills and marketing experience preferred.
Job duties
The Events Coordinator will be responsible for the following, among other duties:
- Manage or supervise management of 1 signature event, at least 4 festivals and several friendraisers
- Coordinate staffing of events by volunteers
- Manage auction for signature event
- Market all events with assistance from Social Media Coordinator
- Assist Operations Manager with management of shelter and online retail
- Positively represent and promote Happy Cats Haven to the public
- Submit reports on activities as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Salary: This position starts at $15/hour.

Offsite Colony Technician
Are you a Happy Cats volunteer who lives on the north or east side of town but who would still like to help our kitties? This is a part-time position for two months with the possibility of further hours.
Job description summary: The Offsite Colony Technician Assistant is responsible for cleaning the colonies and catios at our offsite location at Colorado Cats (CC) on assigned days to ensure that all cats are cared for by methods as stress-free and cat-friendly as possible.
These are some of our most vulnerable kitties, so you’ll get specialized training from our Behavior Coordinator Carole Galloway to work with them.
Employment schedule: 9 hours per week: 9a – 12p Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday, with possibility of additional sub hours on other days.
Preferred education/training: High school diploma or equivalent. Experience with cats required; previous animal care experience preferred.
Job duties
The Colony Technician will be responsible for the following, among other duties:
- Clean and disinfect colonies and catios according to CC protocols
- Clean dishes and do laundry according to CC protocols
- Assist Behavior Coordinator with medications, special diets and other assignments as needed
- Socialize with cats daily to maintain feline-human bond, reporting changes in appearance, health and habits to Behavior Coordinator
- Assist with overall building cleanliness
- Other duties as assigned
Salary: This position starts at $13.65/hour.
