Have you ever had that joyful experience of finally getting a shy cat to lean into petting with love? Patches and Skeeter are looking for a Superhero just like you!
Sweet little brown tabby Skeeter was rescued as a starving kitten from a trash company where he was trying to survive with his orphaned family. Beautiful silver and white Patches with her jewel green eyes was also rescued from a scary outside situation, as you can tell from her tipped-ear badge of courage.
Skeeter may take a while to warm up, but he’s a loving and friendly boy at heart. Once he gets to know you, he’ll greet you at the door and rub around your legs. He’ll make a great Kitty Secretary as he follows you around and helps your life run just a little better.
Like her pal Skeeter, Patches can be a Funny Valentine at first, watchful from a distance until she knows you’re safe. With some patience and a gentle touch, however, she is turning into quite the Snuggle Bunny here at Happy Cats, as you can see.
She was neutral about the other cats until Skeeter came along. He decided he was going to be her BFF no matter what! Now the two of them can be found snuggling almost all the time, in a soft pile of purrs with occasional grooming sessions from mom substitute Patches.
Skeeter loves to play more than anything, and can be found leaping and soaring after a wand toy. He will sometimes share the toy with Patches, who is just as playful if given the chance.
Because of their early experiences with humans, these are special Superhero Kitties. They will need a family with extra patience, willing to let them blossom at their own pace.
They have lived at Happy Cats for many months and will need at least 2 months in their Safe Room, a quiet space to learn to trust and love their new family, as well as our Hands Off handling to help them build trust. Superhero Cats need to be the only pets in the home.
Superhero Kitties come with a kit that includes helps you support them while they become the lovable companions we know they can be. This includes a home installation, a top/side loading carrier per kitty, support materials & videos customized for your kitty, a mini-class in Hands Down Handling, their favorite toys & bedding, 3 months of food/litter/treats, up to 1 year of professional behavioral counseling if needed and other equipment as needed. Skeeter is a little over a year and Patches is about 4 years old. They can be adopted together for $120 which along with their Superhero Kit includes their spay and neuter, vaccinations, microchips, food and litter and treats for 3 months, and a free well-kitty checkup each to help you get started.
