Princess Talia

by

Talia and her kittens were taken in by a nice family, only to lose the babies one by one. They wanted to keep her, but their own cats had other plans and bullied her badly. After many months of living in their office, they brought her to Happy Cats to find a new life.

She settled into a singles condo and her senior cat dad Don came to visit her almost every day. Loving and peaceful with us, this sweet lady kept getting overlooked, even when she was such a good listener for our Purr Me a Story program of children reading to kitties.

We even sent her to our partner Catagonia, where she had more room to stretch out and be herself, but still she waited.

Then we got a call from John, also a senior. He had adopted a big sweet senior cat from us the year before, who had gone into kidney failure and did not survive.

We introduced him to Talia, who recognized another handsome cat daddy right away. Soon she was on her way home.

So it was surprising when she stopped eating when she got home. She didn’t appear stressed, but turned down food after food.

John racked his brain to figure out what she needed and finally remembered she’d had stainless steel bowls at the Haven. He replaced her bowls and within minutes she was back to her happy, affectionate self: eating, drinking and as John says, “organizing the inhabitants of her realm to her liking!”
